Procedures of Vedic Farming: Farming in Tune with Natural Law

With fully developed consciousness through Maharishi’s Vedic Technologies of Consciousness, the farmer will be in a position to effectively use all the other Vedic Agricultural technologies to enliven the full value of Natural Law in himself, his crops and livestock, and in the environment. These procedures include the application of the sounds of Veda and the Vedic Literature, the Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health program, Maharishi Vedic Education, and the Maharishi Sthapatya Veda program.

The Vedic Technology of Consciousness nourishes life from the transcendental field—the field of pure self-referral consciousness; and the Vedic Technologies pertaining to the material field of life also follow the principle of Nature's structuring mechanics to enrich and promote Nature's own life-sustaining, evolutionary processes.

The Vedic approach involves not only the organization and management of the physical or material aspects that constitute the field of agriculture, but combines more fundamental knowledge and technologies to support plant and animal life from the more subtle, evolutionary processes of Natural Law.

When unopposed and unrestricted, Natural Law always functions with its full creative potential. Unnatural interventions restrict the full blossoming of its potential. In Vedic Agriculture each specific application fulfills its localized task while remaining supportive to holistic development of the environment, so that every part of the agricultural process naturally upholds the sum of all parts—the WHOLENESS of life.

Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture Institute will apply all the fundamental, universal principles of Vedic Agriculture to interact with Nature in a balanced way, and thereby nurture Mother Nature, Natural Law, to support the evolution of every aspect of life on earth, maintaining harmony between all levels of life—individual and Cosmic.

The Enlivenment of Natural Law through Recitation of Vedic Sounds— Nourishing the Crops from the Level of the Unified Field of Natural Law

In the Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture program the farmer uses the sounds of Veda and the Vedic Literature to directly enliven the holistic and specific Laws of Nature responsible for the growth of the crops. These Vedic sounds have been preserved throughout the ages by the traditional Vedic families in India, and today are recited by the Pandits just as they were centuries ago.

Maharishi has explained that these sounds of Veda and the Vedic Literature are the reverberations of Natural Law itself. The Vedic sounds are the reverberations or resonances made by the Unified Field when it interacts with itself and begins to vibrate in the basic impulses of Natural Law that administer the universe. These sounds when applied to agriculture can have a profound effect enlivening Natural Law in all aspects of agriculture.

Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health Program

Maharishi Vedic farmers also enjoy the benefits of the Vedic health care system recently restored in its completeness by Maharishi. In contrast to modern medicine with its dangerous side-effects, the Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health program is natural and side-effect free. Its benefits to alleviate and prevent disease have been strongly validated by scientific research.

Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health works by (1) enlivening the inner intelligence of the physiology to create a perfectly balanced state of mind, body and behavior; and (2) creating an enriching relationship with the Cosmic Counterparts of the physiologyÕ€“the sun, moon, planets and stars.

Farmers today suffer greatly from the damaging effects of the chemicals they spray on their crops, and from the pollution of their soil and the water. When they become ill, the modern medical treatments they receive also are hazardous to health, as more than 7000 scientific research studies have confirmed.

All the procedures of Maharishi Vedic Agriculture are inherently health-giving and free from harmful chemicals. Combined with the Maharishi Vedic Approach to Health, which provides constant rejuvenation and revitalization of the physiology, farmers may now live long in perfect health.

Maharishi Sthapatya Veda Program - Building and Land Planning in Accord with Natural Law

The Maharishi Sthapatya Veda program is the Vedic science of building in accord with Natural Law. It is the complete system of Vedic architecture and land planning according to the solar, lunar, and planetary influences on the earth with reference to north and south poles and the equator. It connects individual intelligence with Cosmic Intelligence.

Maharishi Sthapatya Veda has been recently brought to light by Maharishi from the texts of the Vedic Literature. The word Sthapatya means to establish, and the word Veda means knowledge of Natural Law. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda is the science of establishing individual and collective life in full accord with Natural Law through proper building design and construction. This powerful area of ancient Vedic wisdom details the laws of structuringÕ€“or laws of buildingÕ€“so that structurally and functionally man's creations are naturally in harmony with Nature's creationÕ€“the creation of Natural Law.

Sthapatya Veda is the science of structure and relationship, capable of bringing together unity and diversity, and establishing the whole of life in every part of life so that the relationship of every part with the whole is very well balanced.

In Vedic Agriculture, Maharishi Sthapatya Veda is used to create ideal farm buildings and farm lay-outs with proper orientation, proper dimensions and proper placement according to Natural Law. This means that every activity on the farm is naturally in full accord with the evolutionary force of Natural Law. In this way each building contributes its maximum to support every activity of those who live and work in it.

This Vedic Science of structuring, which is Nature's own system of structuring, is the system which harmonizes individual life with Cosmic Life. Every humanly designed, man-made structure should conform to the Natural Laws of structuring if that structure is to be in harmony with the structure of the universe, - the expression of Cosmic Intelligence.

Sthapatya Veda recognizes that the strongest influence of Natural Law on earth comes from the sun. On its path from east to west, the sun generates different influences, different qualities of energy. Plants and animals and man are sensitive to the different qualities of sunlight, as it varies from morning, to afternoon, to evening. Knowledge of these influences allows us to design the farm property and buildings such that the energy of the sun always supports every activity of daily life and every type of crop.

Maharishi Sthapatya Veda architectural design clearly recognizes the importance of proper size, shape and directional orientation of the farms and farm buildings to provide maximum Support of Nature. The Vedic term used for the design and structure of a building in harmony with Natural Law is Vastu Vidya. When the dimensions and proportions of the farm are specifically calculated using the ancient mathematical formulas of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, then the relationship of the farmer and the farm with the Cosmic counterparts is maintained in perfect resonance.

Such a structure has a quiet influence of order and harmony in its environment that in turn harmonizes individual life with Cosmic Life. It saves the farmer from being torn apart by disharmonious influences in the surroundings.

When the entire farming community is built in accord with Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, the result will be healthy farmers, healthy crops and a healthy environment. All aspects of the farmer's life—his consciousness, his body, his family, his home, his crops, and his livestock—will be supported by the nourishing power of Cosmic life.

This science of Vedic Architecture is not a matter of belief or faith; it is as concrete as the burning nature of fire and the cooling nature of ice.

'People do not generally know that the orientation (north, south, east, west) of residential and office buildings contributes a great deal to success and progress in professional life; and health, happiness, and fortune on the individual level.

A considerable amount of ill health, misfortune, and suffering can be eliminated by living and working in properly oriented homes and offices. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda promote s construction according to Natural Law, which takes into account the orientation of buildings in view of direction— north, south, east, and west.'
